China Becoming Communist
The leader of the Communist movement in China Mao Tes-Tung. July 1921 was the the Communist movement began in China. The Communists were fighting the nationalist of China. The leader of the Communists was Mao Zedong. Mao embraced the Marxist socialism, and he was determined to reshape China’s economy. Mao’s transformed China’s industry and business. The Long March was form 1934 to 1935. It was a massive military retreat by the Communist Party. The Communists were trying to escape the Nationalist who wanted to get rid o them. Considered a truing point for the Chinese Communist Party.
Three main events that occurred between 1946-1949 in the Communist Revolution in China was the Nationalist army had the advantage of the larger army. The United States continued its support in helping the Nationalists. The United States gave them nearly 2 billion dollars in help. In 1949 China’s major cities fell to the Communist Army. In the later part of 1949 the Communist Army with the leader Mao Zedong gained control of the country.
Under the Agrarian Reform Law of 1950, the property of farmer was redistributed and the class system was no more. This under the peasant and the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party by Mao to attempt to try to gain support. If people went against them many of the landowners were killed as a result because of this law.
The Great Leap Forward was under the the five year plan that Mao Zedong set up this was expanding the plan. In the strictly controlled life of the farmer and peasant worked the land together nothing was own by one person. The Great leap forward was actually a step backwards. It ended in 1961 when 20 million people dies because of the crop failure and famine.
China today has about 56 different ethic groups. China’s geographical features include mountains desserts. There are many people living in the country while since the need for more economical needs pulls people into the city. Mainly people live in apartments and both the children and parents go to work and school six days a week. China is still a developing nation.
